My Father, Marine Sergeant Tony Janovich, poses after the Marines taking of Guam in 1945.  He had taught hand to hand combat in the Marines and was my first instructor in what he termed "Combat Judo".  That's his Government Model .45 on a shoulder holster.


My Dad, Sgt. Tony Janovich (rt) of the 1st Marine Division, after the War in China. Shown with his squad, they are heading out on leave.  After China he was in Hawaii, before returning stateside.

 


Santa Clara Criminal Justice Training Center, Police Academy graduation class of March 1976.  Prof. Janovich is 4th from the right in the back row, wearing the uniform of the Mountain View Police Department.  This class included officers from Mtn. View, Palo Alto, Santa Clara, Menlo Park, Sunnyvale DPS, Santa Clara Sheriffs, Campbell, and Stanford University.
